Look what rolled in.

I was cutting up my deer in Scotts shop when I heard his truck pull up about 9 am. I asked whats new. He said look in my truck. 13 or 14 points.

Good morning,

YES ! it was a good morning.

I was at my tree stand before dawn. not much happened until about 8:00 am when two deer went by me, they hung around for about 15 min. then three more went buy and were hanging in the flats when I heard behind me the brush cracking. I saw him come to my left and I could have taken a 25 yard shot in the brush but I passed. He went to the flat after the doe. Then to my surprise he came right at me. He stopped about 20 yards away behind a big oak tree. I waited and waited, seamed like for ever, with the bow now drawn I leaned out of my tree stand and let one fly. Shooting down out of the tree stand and downhill the arrow hit high on the back. I saw him go down to the flat again and up the other side. I found him about 150 yards. I had to drag him back into the woods and back down to the flats to clean. I knew I would not be able to get it back up the hill so I called Kris. He came and helped drag it up the hill to the car. I would have never got that deer up the hill with out Kris's help. Thanks again Kris.

Henry and I went to Sandy creek this morning. I was able to land two.

I'm back!

First day of bow hunting, fox and 5 deer. Deer were too far to get a shot, however, fox could have been toast if I wanted to waste an arrow.



Second day, two hours in the tree stand was enough. I got down and face to face with a doe and a button buck. I pulled out my digital camera and shot the buck.

Sunday, it snowed all afternoon.

Cold weather and snow didn't stop this bunch from sledding. Thoughts of a hot polenta dinner on the stove, kept these guys warm and hungry.

Sunday brought about 8 inches of snow. Too much to shovel, so I had to get the snow blower out.

My Lucky Day

Got up this morning went for a 2.5 mile walk in the show, home for breakfast, loaded three boxes of shells and off to the gun club. First round, I shot a perfect score 25/25 in skeet. (I haven't shot 10 rounds all last year) Second round, not so good, went half way without a miss then the true me came shining through, missed 4 this round. Great day, prefect round, A $2.oo lunch, and a bag of bagels to take home.

Looks like it's cold !!!!

Yes it was. I had to break through the ice to get to the water. Fishing was good except you had to watch for floating slabs of ice. You could get blindsided and knocked into the icy water. I quit early, waded in to deep and found a leak in the seat of my waders. Cant fish too long in this weather with wet feet and legs. I had a few other strikes but no fish.

Some people prefer the sun and heat in Florida. I enjoy catching fish. 24 inch Brown trout. Tricia, this one is in the freezer.

Jan 3, 2006 I went golfing in January. NO SNOW . Some holes it was hard to get the tees in the ground, however you got a lot of roll on the rock hard, simi frozen fairways.
